Mississippi- Home Again

Back in March, David had the opportunity to transfer with his company to Mississippi (what are long term goal has always been since leaving). So of course, having been praying for a long time for an opportunity to move back home and be closer to family, we jumped at the idea. We were glad to leave to big city which was just always such a different culture for us, but we were very sad to leave all of our friends, our church, and our memories. Both of our girls were born in Texas, and we finally felt like we were forming a community of friends which we are definitely missing! Here are some pictures of goodbyes.

Mrs.Sara (Moore) was so special to the girls (and us). The girls loved the time they spent with her.

Our house- I miss it! (I miss having a house in general and wish our stuff was not still all in boxes.) It sold in 48 hours!

The girls LOVED the truck! Brieleigh would drive her baby stroller up and down the ramp.

So now we have been in MS about 2 months. We stayed with David's family for awhile on the farm. See below...


 

 

...and now are with my mom in the small town where we plan to live.

We will rent a house soon and unpack all our stuff again which is in 3 different locations, but for now we have enjoyed being with family (hopefully they have too :). We are finding the small town life simpler, less stressful, more relaxing, and more of a community feel. We joined a church here, First Presbyterian Church, which we have enjoyed being a part of thus far. The girls love being outside a lot. Lily Claire loves to eat dirt and play in the mud, and Brieleigh loves watering adn planting plants and making new friends (though she always talks about her old friends and going back home and asking where her room is).

And We're Back!

After a long hiatus, I have come back to the blog! I have two precious girls' lives to document now so double the reason to keep at it!

Tyler Azalea 10K

I have had these uploaded but not posted for awhile. Back in March David ran his first 10K (in the Tyler Azalea District) and finished well despite his minimal training- hoping we might can run one together now post baby. Brieleigh ran the 100 yd dash which was too cute!

February 2012

Here are a few pictures from February....

Brieleigh was water-coloring Valentine's cards for her grandparents, and when I checked on her she said, "Look, I painted my no-nails!"

We also went camping the last weekend to Bohnam State Park... the first park David and I went camping when we moved to Texas. It is only ~1hr and 15 minutes away so since I was to the "no- travel" point in my pregnancy we figured this was not too far away. It was perfect weather during the day- 60's, but that night it was in the 30's. We had the whole tent camp area to ourselves though!

We hiked all the way around the small lake.. it was probably 1.5-2 miles, but we let Brieleigh walk herself alot and explore the nature which she LOVED so it took us a couple hours. We saw alot of fun birds too!

Idaho in January

In an effort to catch up to present day (especially before this baby comes in ~1 month!), I will try to do a few brief posts that I do not want to skip....

Our trip to Idaho back in January to visit David's brother Daniel and Sara and Tatjana.

Hiking along Teton Canyon... Brieleigh was not as crazy about the snow as we hoped, but she enjoyed the ride.

We went sledding two days while we were there. It was alot of fun! Brieleigh even went by herself one time. That was the only time she was happy in the snow. She just got too cold because snow would get into her clothes. :(

We took a sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge on day in Jackson, WY. We got pretty close to these male elk.

My babies.. on the bus ride on the way back from the refuge. Brieleigh was very fussy on the sleigh then we finally got her still and bundled up then and she fell SOUND asleep. Once we got back to the bus we got worried and tried to wake her up, and she would not wake up at first. Finally she came too and was very sweet and happy. I guess she got too cold, tired, and overstimulated.

We drove around in the refuge and found some bighorn sheep! Our first to see in person.

Brieleigh and her little cousin Tatjana- they seemed to have alot of fun together playing... when they were awake at the same time :) Too bad we don't live closer so they could play together more often!
