Yes, I know I have been a horrible blogger lately, and I know that I am way behind in posting pictures of my little Bug and that makes me sad. Limited computer access has been good for my productivity level around the house, but not so good for my blogging and pictures. We are almost done with our home renovations though so maybe I will then have more opportunity to blog some nights when David brings his computer home.
For now, here is a brief post:
All my life I have HATED country music. If a country song came on the radio I would instantly flip the channel. If I rode with someone listening to it, I would become nauseated at the sound. Recently though, something about being a country girl stuck in the middle of one of the nation's biggest cities, I discovered a love for country music. Not just a "I-can-tolerate-it" love, but a love where I cannot stop listening to it and not much else. It just reminds me of home- of strolling through the isles of Piggly Wiggly as a child. Granted country music has its share of songs with a lacking message, but so many of the songs have a real story or message in them. I like that. I like that it makes me feel like I am driving down a two lane road rather than a 10 lane "parking lot". I like that it makes me feel stuck in the middle of the woods rather than surrounded by people and concrete.
So here are some previews of some of my favorites:
Farmer's Daughter - Preview by Rodney Atkins This one reminds me of my dream (farming) and has that lost in the woods setting. David said we have to be sure this doesn't happen to Brieleigh on our farm. :)
All Over Me (Album Version) by Josh Turner This one is lost in the country too and reminds me of David and me.
Alright by Darius Rucker A good message in appreciating the seemingly small things in life.
Roll With It (Album Version) by Easton Corbin This is something I love doing on a free weekend with David- we have not had one in so long.
Stuck Like Glue (Album Version) by Sugarland Again, David and I...
The House That Built Me by Miranda Lambert Reminds me of my childhood and how I got where I am today.
Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean Country, farming, and David..
Good Morning Beautiful by Steve Holy David sometimes sings this to me.. so sweet!
Smalltown USA by Justin Moore the title says it all... home.
