A Not So Texas-y Winter

The last two weeks we had some crazy weather here in Dallas! Tuesday of the first week we got sleet all during the night. Then it never got above freezing until Saturday! On Friday it also dumped 6 inches of snow on top of the ice. So imagine the big city that owns no winter equipment with ice covered roads and millions of  people who do not know how to drive in ice. Fun times! David still had to go into work two of those days but worked from home the other days. I went into work two days as well since the hospital of course never closes. David drove me one day then taught me how to drive on ice the next day (the heat from the cars had made some treads on the freeway but the bridges and parking lots were terrible)! Friday, we could not get out of our driveway (skating rink) without the great potential of hitting our other car or crashing into our neighbor’s fence so we stayed home- David worked then we went to play in the snow.

Brieleigh, not having snow clothes, was again not crazy about the snow. Her warm clothes were two small and fat so she could barely walk without plopping face first into the snow! On Saturday we made a snowman once the powdery snow melted enough to stick together.

  2. We now have her a big coat and ski bibs for next year that we got super cheap at the REI sale. I hope they are at least close to her size for next year.
