I just downloaded probably 100 new pictures off my camera from the end of June and July thus far. Obviously, I have alot I could share on here. I hope to become more consistent (I know I have said that before). So just a quick update on our life these days and then hopefully I can proceed on with short posts more often.
For at least the last year, our lives have been kind of "up in the air" so to speak. David was working a lot of hours almost every week so we saw each other much less than we liked. After much job searching far and wide, listing our house on the market with zero offers, and planning to move to Mississippi, God answered our prayers and provided David with a new, seemingly more stable job which he started 3 weeks ago! He is still working as an archaeologist/ environmental consultant but for a different company. God's ways are not our ways nor His timing our timing, and for that I am thankful. Sometimes I don't know why he leaves us somewhere or leads us to a different place, but it is so comforting to know that He is leading us and has a perfect plan for our lives.
So now we are very glad to know that we will be here for awhile so that we can resettle in and start getting involved in more areas, etc. Yes, we are a little sad to still be in the city, but we will make the best of city life. The past two weekends things have really sunk in. We have had so much more time together! David is working from home, so we have enjoyed eating breakfast and lunch together somedays and running into his office to give him a hug. Brieleigh always says, "Daddy? Office!" She loves having her Daddy close by.
I am still working as a dietitian and have increased my hours (just for the summer- for now) and am working in the NICU 3 days a week (20 hours). We are thankful for God providing for us financially by allowing this set-up to work out and for providing it. I love nutrition and the little babies, but I miss Brieleigh so much when I am gone. Thankfully, when David is not on the road, Brieleigh plays with Daddy at home while I work and tries to distract him from working. When he travels, a family down the road from church watches her.
On a different note, our air went out last night! So we are really enjoying these triple digits now! Looks like we need a whole new system...
This post would not be complete without a few pictures of the cutest girl I know:
