Pat the Bunny: This used to be one of my favorite books as a kid. No doubt it is now one of Brieleigh's favorites. She goes right to every time it is out. She has it memorized, and I love to watch her do the actions. That little wave at the end makes my heart glad everytime!
The Jesus Storybook Bible: This is her other favorite book. Both of these I have to hide so she doesn't break them. She has already ripped some pages in her Bible. She always goes for this book too and will sit there forever and just flip pages. (I definitely recommend this children's Bible! It does such a good job of pointing to Jesus and telling the gospel with every story in it.)

Walking Girlie
Brieleigh is even more on the move! Here is a clip of her skills taken tonight.
She took her first steps at 8 months! Now at 10 months she walks almost as much as she crawls. She is still not the most balanced, but she definitely has gotten her confidence up. She used to think about walking then chicken out and crawl. Now she goes for it (which results in many face plants) and does so well!

Dreaming of the Country Life
Yes, I know I have been a horrible blogger lately, and I know that I am way behind in posting pictures of my little Bug and that makes me sad. Limited computer access has been good for my productivity level around the house, but not so good for my blogging and pictures. We are almost done with our home renovations though so maybe I will then have more opportunity to blog some nights when David brings his computer home.
For now, here is a brief post:
All my life I have HATED country music. If a country song came on the radio I would instantly flip the channel. If I rode with someone listening to it, I would become nauseated at the sound. Recently though, something about being a country girl stuck in the middle of one of the nation's biggest cities, I discovered a love for country music. Not just a "I-can-tolerate-it" love, but a love where I cannot stop listening to it and not much else. It just reminds me of home- of strolling through the isles of Piggly Wiggly as a child. Granted country music has its share of songs with a lacking message, but so many of the songs have a real story or message in them. I like that. I like that it makes me feel like I am driving down a two lane road rather than a 10 lane "parking lot". I like that it makes me feel stuck in the middle of the woods rather than surrounded by people and concrete.

Visiting the Nebraska Corn Fields
On September 3rd for Labor Day weekend, we drove to Nebraska to visit David's dad's parents and to introduce them to Brieleigh. Some of David's immediate family was also there along with his aunt, uncle, and cousin. It was a great trip but such a long drive for such a short stay. We left Friday after work, around 5:00. We drove around 6-7 hours to Salina, KS. We stayed at a semi-shady hotel that I had found on the internet and picked because it was cheap. Oh well, you get what you pay for, and God took care of us. We woke up Saturday morning and drove the rest of the way to Columbus, NE. We loved the two lanes highways through mile after mile of corn and soybean fields. It was a nice change from city hustle and traffic.
We stayed there Saturday midday until Monday morning. We mostly ate and visited. Some of us Sunday went to a church down the street for worship. Sunday afternoon we visited David's Aunt Nancy's cousin who has alot of land and a blooming garden. We loved the ride on the ranger through the land, and she sent us home with a lot of roma tomatoes and jalopeno peppers (with which I made 3 different types of salsa and two recipes of tomato soup and froze). It made us long for the country life for sure. We slept on an air matress in the living room. Brieleigh could not sleep out in the open because she was so curious with all the commotion going on so she was low on sleep. This was only my 2nd time to meet David's grandparents and my first to meet his aunt and uncle, so it was a much needed trip. The drive home we had to go straight through- 12 long hours. Brieleigh definitely let us hear about it, but she is such a little trooper. If nothing else we have taught her to be flexible! After this trip she had been to 10 states in 8 months.

Brieleigh loves grass and being outside!
She just plopped over and laid in the grass for a few minutes without moving. It was precious!

Life in the Fast Lane
So I had a nice long post giving a good update of our lives, but David and I decided it sounded more like something that was good for me to get out but would be better suited for my journal. So I emailed to myself instead.
So, here is a nutshell then hopefully on to pictures!
I have not had much blogging time because our home computers don't work anymore. So I use David's work computer when I get the chance. David has been working long hours at work, and we have been doing some home renovations. (Much of them were done when David's family came to help last week since David has not had much time to work on the house with his crazy work schedule. Thanks for your help guys!!) I will hopefully post before and after pictures soon. We still have one and a half bathrooms to go then we will hopefully be done! We are so ready to just hang out as a family enjoying the fall weather and our precious little walking girl!
I hope to post on our trips to Nebraska,Lubbock, and camping soon. Also I need to take a video of Brieleigh walking and talking. Stay tuned!

Daddy's Giggly Girl
