Happy 3 Month Birthday, Little Brieleigh!

Our little Brieleigh Bug turned 3 months old yesterday! It is so hard to believe that it has been three whole months since God blessed us with this precious little girl that has changed our lives forever. She is such a little blessing everyday as well. As my OB reminded me, God still performs miracles today- every little baby that is born. The world sees it as so ordinary, but if you really think about it, it is mind boggling and such an example of God's amazing power.
A few people close to us have lost their babies before they were born, recently. It is heartbreaking, and sometime I wonder, "Why me, God?" Why did He allow me to have a fairly easy pregnancy and safe delivery and bless David and I with a beautifully healthy child this time, when so many others are facing so much pain? Then I am reminded of Job 1:21b, "the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Who are we to question God's will for our lives? His will is perfect even though it does not always make sense to us and even though at times we are called to endure much suffering. He is still always good. He has chosen, though, for some reason for David and I to be parents to little Brieleigh, and for that I am so very grateful and pray that we can be the Godly parents that she needs.

And now for some pictures. Millie (my mother) has been asking for new pictures for days now so I am finally able to use David's work computer tonight to post some updated ones!

I love how she gets so energetic and flaps her arms and kicks her legs like crazy! I wish I had that much energy at times.

The sweet little faces of Brieleigh...

Smiling Cutie

She is such a happy girl!

This one is my favorites and is going on her three month old page in her baby book!

Bathtime is still her favorite activity.
It is always so relaxing after a long hard day of being a baby!

She is growing up, but she is still such a little person!

Modeling her Daddy's baseball cap

Such big, sweet blue eyes!

She has also been sitting in her Bumbo for the first time this week. She is so strong, and it makes her feel so big!

New Activities:
-Smiling at herself in the mirror (I can't figure out if she knows it is her reflection, or if she thinks it is another little baby smiling back at her. At what age do they figure mirrors out??)
-Riding in her big girl stroller to soak up some sun and stare at the blue sky and tall trees.
-Sleeping through the night (she has slept 3 times for 7-8 straight hours! Go Brieleigh! The last time I had a whole night of uninterrupted sleep was probably sometime in my second trimester. But it is so worth it, btw!)
-Spelling her name- she smiles every time we bounce her on our laps to each letter of her name. She also likes to smile at the alphabet and her Bible verse- Genesis 1:1.
-Chewing on her fingers- she has found her hands and likes to suck on four fingers at one time.
-Putting her blankets and burp clothes in her mouth- she is getting so good with hand/eye coordination. She doesn't put her toys in her mouth yet, but when a blanket is covering her hands she likes to taste it.

We are headed out tomorrow to Idaho to visit with Daniel and Sara (David's brother). They live just over the pass from Jackson Hole, WY and right next to the Grand Tetons, so it should be beautiful and so much fun to see them. Brieleigh is going to be such a little traveler in her first year of life!
