Our little Brieleigh was born one year ago- December 15, 2009. On her actual birthday we had a family celebration with just the three of us. Since we had church, we had a late supper. I tried to have some of her favorite foods, so I picked up chicken nuggets for supper from Chick-fil-A which she had once before and loved. I also made green peas and a vegetable mix with green beans, fennel, and potatoes. She really liked licking the ketchup off the chicken.
Next, we had her open a few presents from us and a few presents/cards from family that came in the mail. She loved tearing into the paper and pulling the presents out of the bags and boxes. It was so precious!
Opening her squeaky shoes from Aunt Sara and Uncle Daniel- she was so confused by the noise everywhere she went.
Tearing into her presents
David has been wanting to give her a John Deere wagon since she was born. He decided her first birthday was a good time. Of course we definitely couldn’t settle for a cheap version so we got the one with real tires, metal, and wood. So this was her main present from us. She has already enjoyed going for rides in it and just sitting in it to play.
I will post pictures soon from her little party with friends soon and eating her first cake!
