Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day Weekend, we went to Brookhaven, MS to my grandparents old house. It is now on the market so we worked on cleaning out and taking stuff. It is a very slow process because my grandparents saved and collected everything. I never knew my grandmother was such a Southern Belle- so many dishes, china, silver, crystal, serving pieces, and glasses. We met my mom, Aunt Sally, Aunt Lucy, Uncle Dave, and Maggie there. It was a lot of fun to see everyone and to remember some of the fun memories we all shared in that house.
We got there late Friday night (1:00 am so actually Saturday). Sunday morning we left and made it to Louisville for church at Covenant Pres. I am so glad we made it since it will be the next to last meeting of that church (where I grew up). So sad to embrace such change this weekend and closing of chapters of our lives, but thankfully God is still leading His people! Sunday afternoon we went to Maben to stay with David's family since we had not seen them in awhile and since they had not gotten to spend much time with Brieleigh. We headed back to Dallas Monday midday, eager to work harder toward moving back home to Mississippi closer to family, home, and the country.

Cousin Maggie and Brieleigh at the Beehive

Visiting with Uncle Cal- he made her smile a lot!

Cal with his stick horse Grandaddy made and his 10+ year old whiskey that we brought him home from Grandaddy's old house

Brieleigh and Pops

Brieleigh absolutely LOVED the goat and our old dog Felix. I have never seen her laugh so hard in her life! It was priceless and so cute.

She kept reaching out to touch the goat and just giggling. She especially likes for him to lick her hands and feet.

"Mommy and Daddy, when are we moving her to the country with these fun toys?
Country life is more my style."

The next morning we tried to video her. She was very sleepy and Treebeard was very hungry so it did not work out as well. You can still hear her laughing some and smiling alot:

Uncle Nathaniel and Brieleigh- she LOVES him and always watches and listens to him
when he is around.

Some kind of twig-like caterpillar. We now have a million pictures of this on our camera that David and his dad took. It was cute watching them be so fascinated!

Visiting Grandaddy one last time on our way out of town. He didn't want to hand her back!

We had such a great time in Mississippi and cherish the time we get to spend there and see our families. We truly love that place!
