We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the beach and with family! I will get some pictures and synopsis posted soon. It was a much needed time of relaxation and enjoying God's breathtaking creation together as a family. We especially loved being with Daddy all week and not having him go to work all day!
So what have we been up to?
David has been swamped at work. His small compnay lost (fired and quit) about 3/4 of their workers and gave all around pay cuts. So now it is him and about 2-3 other workers doing everything. We are very thankful he has a job, but everyday I feel that he may not have a job when he comes home. I have never had such a peace about such a situation though because I know that God is in control, and this could be His way of telling us to do something else, or it could just be a lesson in trust and strength. He has gotten some good experience.
I have been working about 10 hours a week. I am covering someone's maternity leave as a dietitian at the children's hospital. I have LOVED it! (Well, for work I love it. I would much rather just be home with Brieleigh those 10 hours more, but for now we have bills to pay and groceries to buy.) I really enjoy working with the kiddos. Adults are much more set in their ways and grumpier. Kids are so young and full of life. It can be sad though at times. I am so blessed to have such a flexible work schedule! David has been able to work from home most everyday I work to keep Brieleigh. It is such a blessing not to have to put her in daycare. I am so very glad we get to raise our daughter all the time! Our pediatrician said he could tell that she is not in daycare because her chart is so thin. My boss knows that I only want to work part time so that I can stay home with my baby most of the time. She told me that by the time my baby is in kindergarten I will gave so much experience that everyone will want to snatch me up for a full time position. I decided that was not the time to tell her I wanted 7 kids!
Brieleigh is six months and on the move! She is crawling everywhere, fast! She likes to find little specs on the carpet and try to put them in her mouth. We just love being her parents!
My mom and sister, Madeline, are flying in tomorrow for a week! Yay! They are going to babysit the hours I work. We are planning to go the the zoo (Brieleigh LOVES animals!), fireworks, and a Texas Rangers game. We also have Wes and Katie's wedding this weekend that David is in, so that should be fun to.
Oh, and then there is this strong desire that David and I both have to move back home to Mississippi. City life is really wearing on us, and we really don't want to raise our family here. We miss the family, the people, the Southern hospitality, the food, the woods, the ruralness, the stars, and the small town community-ness! We are both slightly homesick. We have made some great friends here and both have jobs right now, so I don't know what God's will is, but we could definitely use prayer for wisdom!
If you made it through all that them I am sorry! I just needed to ramble for awhile on life in general. A good summary would be that God has blessed us so richly with each other!
