Cooper Lake State Park

On March 25-27th (last weekend), we went on a family camping trip. Brieleigh had been before at 3 months old, 5 months old, and 9 months old. This was the first trip though where she was really walking/running around. We were not sure if this would make things more challenging or not, but it turned out that it made it so much more fun. Brieleigh Bug LOVES the outdoor and nature. She had a great time discovering more of God’s creation.
We stayed two nights- Friday and Saturday. I checked the weather beforehand, and it said that Saturday was to be record highs in the mid-80s then high 50’s to mid-60’s at night. I usually become overwhelmed at some point in all packing processes, so at this point I decided we did not need long pants or jackets. Bad decision- it got down to at least the low 40’s Saturday night and we froze. Thankfully I brought Brieleigh jeans and a jacket, and I had a rain jacket but poor David! He is going to have help pack or double check my list next time.
It is was relaxing to just be outside as a family... no house to clean and no computer or work to interfere. I always love reading my Bible by the camp fire. It is so refreshing.
We had some good food too. We made a one pot meal Friday night: Annie’s Mac and Cheese mixed with peas and carrots and cut up spiral-cut ham. Saturday breakfast: ground sausage, cheese grits, fried eggs, and a warm cream cheese danish. Saturday supper: a leftover Chick-fil-A chicken breast with Hobo veggies (sweet potatoes, potatoes, bell pepper, and onions) and leftover cornbread.

Brieleigh loved climbing on top of the tent! Later she figured out how to break in on her own.

Really it was not a beach, but the water was so very low that there was alot of dry land.

Here is one of Brieleigh's favorite activities. (Notice the hole that she unzipped and squeezed through.) She LOVED being inside the tent. She would get so hyper and want to just run around inside.

Brieleigh loved camping so much that she broke down in tears when we started breaking down the tent and packing up the campsite. I think she also loved being with her Mommy and Daddy all weekend with no interruptions. She did not want to leave, but we promised to take her back very soon!
